Connecting Nature, Art, and Community

Deep In the Heart of Dallas

Running through the heart of Dallas, TX – meandering, actually – the Trinity Strand Trail is a 4.7-mile (for now) multi-use urban trail built not only for healthy endeavors such as biking, running, and nature gazing but as a vital, car-free thoroughfare through the unique Design District and Medical District.

Following the original Trinity River channel, the Trinity Strand Trail winds amongst dozens of art galleries, restaurants, breweries, hotels, and more eclectic businesses, blazing a nature-and-art filled path through the heart of one of Dallas’ most vibrant areas.

We’re also an integral part of The Loop trail system, a 50-mile series of paved trails creating a ‘loop’ that opens up infinite possibilities for urban adventures from going out to dinner to seeing how far you can ride your bike!

Thanks to our partnership with the City of Dallas and generous donations from many local businesses and individuals, we’re on the path towards even greater things. Local architects, environmental scientists, and some of Dallas’ coolest artists have helped design and beautify the trail and surrounds.

And as of Fall 2025, we have more key construction and landscaping phases in the works (like more trees, pedestrian bridges, gathering spaces). Please consider A DONATION and/or BECOMING A MEMBER to help us continue to preserve and provide first-class mobility, connection, and wellbeing.

While we’re now linked with the Katy Trail via the Hi Line connector, we’ll also soon connect to Pegasus Park to provide over 73 miles of interconnected trails that can take you to/from Southwestern Medical District, Dallas Market Center, Downtown, Uptown, Stemmons Corridor, Design District, and White Rock Lake (to name a few spots).

Since 2002, The Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail, a 501c(3), has been working hard on preserving and building this world-class thoroughfare through our world-class city. Our mission is to connect Nature, Art, and Community in the heart of Dallas.

If you’d like to become a part of invigorating Dallas and helping us continue to grow, you can VOLUNTEER or DONATE today!
