friends of the trail

The Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail, a non-profit organization formed in 2002, came up with the concept of a trail that would take advantage of the Old Meanders, a beautiful but neglected resource, and tie commercial, residential, and recreational areas together with easy access to public transportation.

Since 2002, they raised over 12 million dollars in public and private funds for the trail.

An additional ten million dollars is required to complete construction of the trail and trail connections in the next few years. There are many opportunities to get involved and support the effort through membership*, donations, sponsorships and volunteering.
